Silencio Blanco’s third production unearths the intimate universe of those that live off the sea, characters submerged in a lonely trade, in the face of nature’s magnificent immensity.
Fisherman tells the tale of a man who, with his boat and fishing net, establishes an invaluable connection to his trade. A craftsman residing in places that have become strange and foreign to us.
Through expressive marionettes and truly eloquent objects, actor/handlers coexist in a space where the company’s aesthetics and research are brought into new directions.
A white marionette stands up before five human bodies in name of the courage and heroism of all of whom it represents. A gathering in silence in all its shapes and forms, a gathering in the dance of silence.
"(Silencio Blanco) manipulate sublimely crude—looking puppets with tender precision"

As a company, our methodology has been to develop our productions from fieldwork, by observing the delicate intricacies of daily human life. In March 2016, we went to Constitución touring the Maule fishing coves in the aim of getting to know, live with and soak up the life of the fisherman we had imagined and remembered.
